6 Creative Uses for Candy Corn
As Fall comes to a close and I start to usher in the Christmas holiday season, I am always left with bowls
of leftover candy corn. Each season I purchase a bag or two of the mellowcream candy, in the same way
I always purchase a bag of spring lettuce mix, full well knowing it will end up lining my bin.
This season, I hope to help inspire you to give those sweet nuggets one last time to shine before its all
candy canes and hot chocolate. From kids table activities to snacks made for the kid in all of us, I hope
you find at least one or two uses for these sweet holiday treats before chucking them aside.
Golden Pumpkin Picks – Gently skewer a pumpkin candy corn on a pointed kabob type stick. Mix edible
gold luster dust (I use Truly Mad Plastic from Sugar Drop) mixed high grade alcohol like Vodka (don’t
worry! No taste or alcohol will remain) and blend just until it is past a paste consistency. Paint the
pumpkin with a clean brush. Allow to dry and use for a drink stirrer stick.
Tic Tac Toe – Need a fun activity for the kids table? Purchase mini paper tic tac toe boards or print some
at home. Place boards around the kids or adult table with mini bowls of candy corn for game pieces. Let
the competition begin! These sets are also fun gifts to bag for guests to take home to play later.

Round apple slice, plus additional frozen apple slices
1. Place Candy Corn on microwave safe dish and melt in 10 second intervals until gooey. Place
Brown sugar on separate plate.

3. Fill the glass halfway with apple juice, top with lemon lime soda, and add frozen apple slices.
Adults can add prosecco or sparkling wine in place of soda.
4. Garnish the glass with an apple slice, kabob skewer, paper straw, etc.
Peanut Butter Candy Corn Taffy
This candy has a pillowy marshmallow-like texture and flavor reminiscent to Bit-O-Honey.
1 c Candy Corn
1 c. Peanut Butter
2 Tbsp. Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
4 c Mini Marshmallows
Sea Salt Flakes
1. Line a 9x9” pan with parchment paper and lightly coat with non-stick spray.
2. In a heavy bottom pan, combine candy corn, peanut butter, and butter and melt on Medium-
Low Heat stirring constantly.

3. Once candy corn has fully melted, add vanilla and marshmallows and stir continuously until
marshmallows have completely disappeared.
4. Pour in prepared pan, sprinkle with sea salt, and place in the fridge to set, approximately 2
hours.
5. Cut candy into 1” sections and wrap with 5x5” parchment or wax paper squares to avoid the
candy sticking together. Place candy in a dish or wrap up as a fun gift!
Turkey Trail Mix
The best part about Trail Mix is you can use whatever you like or have on hand! Combine all in a bowl
and enjoy this treat during fall tailgating or movie watching.
Below are a few of my favorite trail mix ingredients. I love salty sweet combinations, but you can stick
with all sweet!
Start with at least 3 items. Use one cup of smaller ingredients (i.e. chocolate chips) to two cups of larger
ingredients (i.e. popcorn)
Enjoy and share your combinations!
Caramel Cheddar Popcorn or Kettle Corn
Pretzels, Potato Sticks, Mini Cheese Balls
Captain Crunch Cereal or Golden Grahams Cereal
Candy Corn
Marshmallows
Raisins or Craisins
M & M’s or Reese’s Pieces
Chocolate, White Chocolate, Butterscotch, or Peanut Butter Chips
Dry Roasted or Honey Roasted Peanuts or Cocoa Dusted Almonds
Candy Corn Bark
1 Lb. High Quality White Chocolate Melting Wafers
½ c Candy Corn
½ c Dark Chocolate Chips
½ c Salted Peanuts
Sea Salt and Sprinkles for Garnish
1. Pour chocolate in a microwave safe plastic bowl and melt in 20 second intervals, stirring
between, until chocolate has almost fully dissolved. Allow to rest for one minute then stir to
break up any additional small pieces.
2. Pour melted chocolate onto a sheet of parchment paper and using an offset spatula, spread into
a thin even layer.
3. Immediately top with candy corn, chocolate, peanuts, a sprinkle of sea salt and sprinkles. Allow
it to cool for 1 hour then break into smaller pieces. Bark is a great item to bag for holiday gifts!
